July Newsletter
Happy July to all of us, but mostly to people whose dogs aren’t freaked out by fireworks! We’re bidding a fond farewell to June but taking the spirit of Pride and Juneteenth with us into the rest of the year. We will continue in our commitment to anti-racism internally and in the work we do. Our mission remains to do our part to improve the human experience through sex education that is joyful, inclusive, affirming, and responsive to context and student needs. We are also committed to prioritizing the safety of our participants and our team during the continued pandemic—all training and classes will continue to be online for the duration of 2020. Keep reading for details on all our work in June and to find out more about our upcoming virtual events.

This June we collectively completed more than 40 hours of online training! That beautiful number included a training of facilitators for the UN|HUSHED high school curriculum, a training of facilitators for the UN|HUSHED middle school curriculum, and two custom Teaching Sex Ed Online trainings, one for the Oklahoma State Health Department and one for Planned Parenthood Federation. Our Teaching Sex Ed Online trainings proved so popular that we’ve made a recorded version available on our website and will be offering the interactive training again beginning in August! The most recent book from our Executive Director, Dr. Karen Rayne, received another award! TRANS+: Love, Sex, Romance, and Being You took the gold in the Foreword Reviews! We’re so excited to see such an important book and topic receiving the attention it deserves.
